Stick with it , It can seem overwhelming at first but give it some more time.
Just finished first year in College going for BS in Computer Science

What is the reason you got a C+ in the Introduction to JAVA ? If you find it difficult to understand the logic and language structure then its time for you to move to another field. But if you can comprehend JAVA given more study time and better learning materials ( books / references ) then stay with the course.

I would have thought you would have received a C++ or C#. Boo! Yeah, I know...bad joke. I have a B.A. in Computer Science and I find it odd that your first CS course is in Java. That is the wrong approach. You should learn C+ or C++ first, as this is the basis of most of today's computer languages including Java. If you are passionate and interested in becoming a programmer, I suggest continue with the major. But, I would strongly suggest taking a more basic course and speaking with a counselor or someone from the CS department. My first CS class was programming in C. Then, I moved to C++, Postscript, Java, Javascript and ASP.
