How do I handle a supervisor who was once the interim manager right before I came on board?
Asked by ladyboss20inblue
Hello,
What can I do in this situation. Before I was bought on board, they had an interim manager. Once I was hired, they demoted ber back to a supervisor. Now is not being productive or that encourging. Everything is always "I did it that way" or "I knew that was the problem before". It is very frustrating and I do not like at all. I have tried the heart to heart. She states she sees her serlf doing more and I even told her that for you to do more, you have to excel in what you are doing now. What should I do now?

Sit her down and have an open one-to-one chat. You need to demonstrate that you are the boss, but put a positive spin on it by explaining you value her input and support and you'd like her to approach you with input and ideas in x,y,z ways.
if that doesnt work...and she is being obstructive and difficult...invovle your HR department
