Does anyone know of any Human resource jobs in Louisiana/New orleans?

I would love to get to work in my major but I can't seem to find a job in Human resource in New Orleans. Does anyone have any suggestions or positions open?

I don't personally know the answer to your question, but you should re-post it in the New Orleans section of the Travel category. There are labor shortages in the medical, legal, and retail fields, plus the trades and the service industry. However, I don't know about vacancies in Human Resources. Good luck!

I can help you. There aren't a lot of professional jobs here, but everyone needs HR in some form or another. First, know who the major employers are. I would say Tulane University, Entergy Corp, Pan American, Michoud Assembly, and Northrop Grumman. Check their websites for jobs and read the postings carefully as not all HR jobs are listed with such a title. Second, the healthcare industry is also large here so look at the major players for jobs: Ochsner, Touro, West Jefferson, East Jefferson, and LSU University Hospital. Third, every hotel needs at least one HR person and this includes Harrah's (casino). Find out all the hotels in town and check their websites. Fourth, make sure you check businesses just outside of the NOLA area, like Chevron and other oil production companies that have plants along the river. Last, there are professional HR organizations that also post jobs. Two that come to mind are SHRM and GNOSHHRA. I have listed their links below.

If you have no experience at all in HR, believe it or not I know of two ladies who got jobs right inside the Employment Agency itself. This work was recognized by very reputable companies later on when they completed their one year there.
