Yep all types will hire. Keep in mind several things. 1) a lot of people leave after the holidays because they just wanted seasonal help. 2) stores often get ready for store inventory, remodels, and setting garden centers/spring areas. 3) look not just at stores but also their suppliers and venders. Pepsi, chips, batteries, DVD's all need stocked year around. If you only want part-time and need to work around your school schedule here's a very over looked route. Go into a Department store (Wal-mart, Kmart, Target). Go to the customer service desk. Ask for the Vender log or salesman log. In it you will find a ton of business that go in and out of that store and others on a daily business. most venders pay a lot better than the stores.

Not likely, it'll be slow, and all the holiday temps will have been laid off. Everyone's too broke in January to keep shopping.

Retail jobs are constantly hiring because the turnover rate is so high. You should be able to find plenty of open positions.

Depends, right after the holidays is when they need the least help, on the other hand there's no loss in trying. Might want to drop off your applications before the holidays if you want to have a chance in January.

Many stores have sales in the first few months of the year, and places like Miami probably have a high turnover in staff. It should not be too much problem finding something in retail.

Alot of people might quit after the holidays besides the temporary help so there might be some openings. Good Luck!

Not unrealistic but very tough. Usually January is the time where retail stores let go of all of their seasonal help. But don't give up hope, you never know.

That is time for the snowbirds to arrive. Look in the tourist field: restaurant, bar, hotel, etc.

Retail stores, especially the one that I work at always accepts resumes. Drop a few off at some stores and see what happens.
