Asking retail manager for a job, help?

i'm looking for a job in the cell phone stores. i was wondering if theres a professional line that i can use to ask the retail store manager for a job application. any help/ tips? ive been using "hi, i was wondering if you guys were hiring?" but i need to present myself more professional, what line should i use??

Take you resume with you and dress like you are working there. Ask him to accept your resume and to contact you wheneve he has an opening at the store.
