Career Questions and Answers
How should I go about starting a modeling career?
Asked by 23
Ever since I was born people have been telling me I should consider modeling, because i'm 5'11 and i get the old "you're gorgeous and tall you should model." I'm really into fashion and I've decided that maybe I should try it. I know you have to go on "go-sees" and get a portfolio but I'm just wondering how to find the right photographer and what to do! Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Be careful about people who ask you to pay to get started. That's a real "red flag".

I strongly advice you not to just walk around town with pictures of you looking for a photograph, I mean it can be dangerous.
You have to go to a modeling agency like Next, Ford, Folio or Elite. They will tell you if you have what it takes to be a model and guide you in your new career. Be ready to face rejection or be severely criticized for trivial stuff.
Modeling agencies have open calls, you can check their websites...
