How do I get a Certified Forklift Operating Permit, so I can obtain a forklift operator position at a warehouse? Where would I go locally? What are the regulations?

It's no wonder that the person with the previous answer has their name as kicked off yhoo. Their info is incorrect. It is an OSHA policy (OSHA is funded by the government) So therefore it is required by law. One way to get a certification is through the equipment companies that sell them. If you can find out the brand of forklift of the desired warehouse that you wish to be employed, that would put you one step ahead. You can locate who sells that brand and they can assist you. you dont there is no operator licence for forklifts you dont even need a drivers license just go aply tell them you are a fast learner and can run anything you dont need heavy equipment licence thats just a joke for schools to make money i work construction i have ran--with no licences at all==fork lift, paver,loader,skidloader,millingmachine,oildistributor,even dump truck but legally --dump truck needs cdl and oil dist other machines dont even require a drivers license i employ 1 man with no drivers licence at all he runns loader and blade or road maintainer some call it
