Tears Dry On Their Own
Do you think I could be eligible for this Accounts Receivable position?
Asked by Tears Dry On Their Own
In the ad, it states: Entry-level position in our Billing Department. Must type 8,000-10,000 kph minimum with low errors. Requires excellent communication skills in order to call clients for pertinent billing information. Performs specialized processing of accounts receivable issues requiring advanced training and technical skills. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, credit/refund correspondence and research, audit and review support, RCDM analysis, and letters of credit and communications. Additional certification in code processing and leadership responsibilities may be prerequisites depending on location and position expectations. I type around 90 wpm (not exactly sure how to calculate that into kph..), I have a lot of customer service experience (in person and over the phone) and auditing/bookkeeping/data entry experience (minimal accounts receivable experience) but would they train me or would I already have to know most of this?

just apply. The worst they could say is no and the best they can say is your hired. Seems like a good risk/reward to me.

Only way you will know is to apply for the job. If they advertise it as an entry level job you will be assigned the menial tasks within the A/R dept. As you do well they will add responsibilities and more important functions for you to do. They more experienced you become, the more you will earn and the more you have to present to the next employer when and if that time arrives.
