Ghostwriting: is it acceptable to post for work online under an alias?
Asked by KB
I don't want my full-time employer to find out. At the same time, I don't want to turn off potential customers. At what point do I come clean? Is it a good or bad idea to use a spouse's/partner's name?

Standard practice is to submit your resume as Anonymous, just your city and zip code, a personal email address, and put Anonymous as your company name as well. This is done all the time, specifically in the sales and finance industries.

KB, Hello! First of all, your present employer probably will not find out. Even if they do, as long as you're not doing it on company time, they can't/won't care. Second of all, I sometimes do business in my wife's name - but that's really because I'm an American citizen and I'm not legally allowed to work in the UK. The problem is, you want to build trust with your customers. It's a really big deal. Stick to your name, bro. Good luck! -Andy
