My employer employs everyone on a causal basis even if people work on a full time basis. Lets say he offers me $35 / hour casual... how much is that full time equivalent, and how to I calculate it?

By law...you're entitled to vacation. Unless he's paying you cash under the table, you are entitled to 4% vacation pay. If he can not give you the time off...he must pay you, it's the law. If you're a casual employee/classified as part-time but working full-time hours, he doesn't have to pay you for statutory holidays. There's no point in doing the calculations, sounds like he's trying to rip you off. By how much....if you're not getting vacations or vacation pay, take your salary from last year and calculate 4% of that. Add to that 8 hours @ xx.xx$/hour for however many stat holidays there are in your state and you've got the amount that you're out.
Say you earned 50, 000 last year.
Your vacation pay = 2,000$
10 holidays X 8 hours X 24.00$/hour = 1920.00$
If you made 50,000$, he ripped you off for 3920$
