Can anyone help with writting a cover letter to reapply for a job that i already have?

I have the easy part done, my resume. I'm finding it impossible to write my cover letter. I work as a security officer and a new company has taken over and wants us to reapply for our jobs that we currently hold. I do not even know who to address the letter to. I have written cover letters in the past but never for a job that I already have. i guess I need a job start to get my creative juices flowing.

Dear, technically you don't have the job. If you have done cover letters before than you are doing just fine. Write this cover letter like you are applying to a new company (because you are). Tell of all your accomplishments and be specific. If you would like give me your e-mail address and I will forward you several good law enforcement/security cover letters and resumes.
