What is the best amount of time for giving notice, nanny job?
Asked by pookiebear
I work as a full time nanny and I will have to give notice for the family I work for. I realize that it takes more than two weeks to find a replacement nanny, so I was thinking of giving six weeks, but my boyfriend thinks that is too much, he thinks I should only give 4 weeks. What should I do?

If you know now when your last day needs to be, tell them. Why burn the bridge and this way they will have enough time to find a replacement. You may also be able to assist them in the hiring or training. And this way you leave on the best terms.

As much time as possible is always best..That will also entitle you to a good review by them for further jobs..

I'd tell them now. Let them start thinking about child care options.
