How long is normal to wait to be contacted after applying online for a job?

I applied online to the Mervyn's in my area two weeks ago. I know for a fact that they are looking to hire part-time. I still have not heard from them... from knowledge or experience, how long does it usually take to be contacted when you apply online? Should I go and apply in the store even though I've already sent in an application online?

You could always call and ask to speak with a manager. Just tell them you applied two weeks ago and you are checking on the status of your application. There is a good chance that (s)he will schedule you for an interview on the spot.

I would apply instore.
