Here is a website for general career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search 'clinical laboratory technologists' and there is brief general info about salary with other resources for career info.
The local community college (perhaps non-credit course) or county vo-tech school may offer such a program or part of a medical assistant or ekg (electrocardiogram) program. Just fyi though with the medical assistant that there are not supposed to be too many jobs out there as well as with medical billers and coders despite what the schools tell the prospective student. Please steer clear of those private expensive schools.

The range is $22,489 - $32,448 per year, with the median being about $27,000. If you go to salary.com and type in your zip code, you can get a better idea of how much they make in your particular location. Good luck!

I don't know what they make out here, but it's probably not much more than $9/hour, but that could be with benefits too. You have to weigh in the other benefits you are receiving. If you are talented at it, you will be in high demand. Hospitals need them, blood banks need them, laboratories need them, clinics need them. Even if you start out on the low end of the scale, you could move up rather quickly.
