After having a felony 8 yrs ago, can I still work in healthcare as a medical assistant?

I am a certified medical assistant and I haven't worked since the felony in 2000.

If it was a drug or theft related offense, I doubt anyone is going to hire you.

It varies from state to state ask the employer if you can and be honest about it so they don't have grounds to fire you later.

I would wager you won't get a job as a felony working in a medical office where there are social security numbers, personal information on clients, and a host of drugs as well as prescription pads. Technically there is no such thing as a certified medical assistant b/c it is not a regulated profession by the state.
