What happen to all the high paying jobs?
Asked by weaziegirl
Is it me or does it seem as if all of the high paying jobs are obselete these days. I am an event planner for the sole purpose that as a computer tech (and after 9/11) I couldn't find a good paying job (jobs period were hard to come by) so now I own my own company planning events. Although moving slow it is starting to pick up. Has anyone else felt this strain here in Indianapolis?

If your business is slow at present, would you think about running something else alongside it, something that could be done part time and which could create the size able income you are obviously looking for. If you can email me I will send you some web sites to look at.

the high paying jobs went to low wage workers overseas. The companies work on a precept that profits are more important than employees.

I also do event planning but not AS a business. I do it IN my business. I really enjoy doing it too and this way I have something to fall back on and don't have to worry about slow times. The first Regional training meeting I planned for our area was great and I had so much fun doing it that I decided that rather than doing it once a year, I would have local quarterly meetings. Now, I am considering once a month events. I also enjoyed planning the big charity events as well. I truly hope things pick up for you. If you need any tips, feel free to contact me. Forgive me if it takes me a few hours to get back to you as I am going into my busy season and I am in and out these days. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you all the best! Bonnie Ramsey
