is it possible to be a good computer programmer without being great at math?

Yes but it is not the kind of math you would expect. You really only need to have an understanding of geometry and SUMMATIONS.
The data structures that you apply in computer science are very graph-like and geometrical. The loops you use can become long chains of summations.
If you like logical puzzles or algorithms, then computer science is definitely your thing. The harder math like Calculus and differential equations applies way more to the engineering disciplines than it does to comp Sci.

yes absolutly possible. basic algebra is all you really need. for anything more important a calculator will suffice. in fact that canb e said for most industries in general.

I'm not sure, but you probably need to know past Algebra and Geometry, probably more than that.

Problem solving skills are the best things to have to be a decent programmer. Math is not really that big of a deal, but it does play a factor.

Anything is possible, but you will need to improve your math skills. The programming languages require it. I looked into the same career.

OF COARSE! the program is already there all you must do s make it work FOR YOU anyway possibly the best person to be a computer programmer is someone who has an abstract mind.

You don not have to carry great knowledge of mathematics in order to understand how some complex machines function. You have to be well trained and maybe you will aquire some mathemtical skills if neccesarry. But remember that computer programming is no easy job as you will have to understand how a software works, its code, or how it uses language with your original computer.

It's unlikely, as a lot of math is logic and symbol manipulation, the same skills required for programming. That's not to discourage you from trying programming - it could be that you're actually good at it - and math, too - but just don't know it.
It's possible that one might be a good web designer, though, with an artistic eye. Such a person might still rely on a programmer to write code, say Java applets.

Yes, but being poor at math makes it harder for you to find good work later in life. I don't know how old you are, but if you're doing poorly in math at school, go get yourself a tutor. The better you do on it now, the easier it will be for you to excel later.
I know quite a few talented programmers, but (and I am being completely honest here) the only ones who have good-paying programming jobs are the ones who did well in school. Seriously, no bull. Employers put a lot of stock in your academic performance.
Thinking of math as another programming language might make it easier.

You need to have a very analytical and logical mind to
be a very good programmer. Math is normally used
as a tool for analysis and simulation.
