I need help finding mining jobs in Australia?
Asked by Mark R
looking for work in the mining industry in WA or Qld but can't seem to find anything were they don't insist on extensive previous experience (understandably I suppose). Got my loader and excavator licences but simply want to get a start with anything basic to get my foot in the door. Fly In Fly Out remote area is what I'm after, any suggestions?

I have a husband with the same problem, had his generic mining licence and still cannot find work. He's 56 however, that could be holding him back. Any help would be great for him too!! And appreciated by me. We live in Queensland.

I had a friend who was after the same thing. It took him 2 years to crack into the game. He had excavator and explosives licences. He ended up ringing every company until he found one that would at least give him an interview. He flew from Melbourne to WA twice for interviews (at his own expense) until he finally found a company to take him on. He started on $90k 2yrs ago, and is now on $150k a year minimum, flies back & forward between QLD & WA as required, all flights, meals accommodation paid for. You practically got to be related to someone to get in, or be really, really persistent. Good luck!

Because of all the coverage that mines have received in the press recently it is quite hard to get a job, your best bet is to register with a mining job site, check with career one.
