what does public pay to a cashier or sales clerk?

i'm 15 and i'm gonna get a job there, so about what do they pay? thanks. i meant to type 'publix'

Not sure where you mean "there" - but I usually see those pay about minimum wage. Some can have bonuses or commissions and like most jobs, pay can be higher in a booming area where labor is scarce. It can still be a good opportunity nevertheless where you can be mentored by good managers to pick up on skills like accounting, inventory management, and customer service if you take the initiative to learn. I've had friends that put in the extra effort at high school jobs like that and get bumped up to a part-time manager's position later. By the time they're in college, they get to make their own schedule and wind up making double what the rest of their buddies make. Those are also the people that make big money out of college, too. :)
