Career Questions and Answers
why is it hard for me to find a job?
Asked by dreaming of you
I have only had one job in my life and I am still currently employed there. In addition, I spent 3 years of my life working there. My major is in Health Administration and I have 1 year to finish my bachelors degree. I really want to start out with something clerical so I can build my way up. However, I applied to two different hospitals and I still haven't received any phone calls. I really would appreciate some kind of advise on what I can do next.

You can find a job by so many ways. You should tell your friends and relatives, your community etc, etc. that you need a new job. Some times your reliable colleagues may also help you. You can register your name and bio-data with career agencies or online career services. Can respond job advertisements. The main thing is that you need some will power that you can fine a job and you can change your job and you have the ability to do a new job. Make up your mind and try. But remember that you must not leave your job until you get a new job.

Mel,
There are thousands of hospitals, nursing homes and health care organizations which use health care administrators in the US. You have stated that you have applied to two. Most people who finish school have a very limited view of where to apply. They look at the local job market, and then complain that they cannot get a job. I see people on here frequently complaining that they cannot find a position in fields where other parts of the country are begging for applicants.
Often, people have limitatins which prevent, or even prohibit them from moving (such as the need to take care of family, or to remain in an area where their spouse is employed). I have talked with many people who have never considered that both spouses might find a position in the new location. Or that the income from their new job would make the spouse's income unneccessary.
It is often tough to move from a familiar area, but you need to look at a larger picture. Especially in a field like Health Care or Hospital Administration people will often move across the country to move into the next higher position. Those who succeed in your field generally are global thinkers. It is time to start thinking globally, and not look at 2 hospitals.
Good luck with your career!

Im in the same boat...no job....though so your a little better off than me. I do make enough follwing these simple little websites..but I would rather have a real job...gettting paid by the hour...guaranteed paycheck everyweek....But, until then
You know, I get tired of hearing about data entry jobs at home being a scam...but most are. I found this website a few weeks back by mistake, and it has changed my life....Ill throw in a few extras...just to show you how I make money...but I mostly do it, online doing data entry, research for other people.
No FEE!!!! You bid on jobs/projects and if you win and perform the job the way your supposed to, you get paid...its that simple.

I presume you applied to all the hospitals in your area. If so, make a follow up call to ask about the status of your application. Some nursing homes, independent living centers for senior citizens and assisted living centers also hire health administrators. Check with insurance companies to find out if they have openings for adjusters. Many of them provide the training.
