I am interested in the Interior Design field as a career, What does my first year financial plan look like ?

It all really depends on your clients, and at the moment you may have some difficulties in making more than $40,000 a year. It also depends where in Florida you plan on starting. South Florida currently has a lot of homes up for foreclosure, so the demand for interior design might begin to decline. Central Florida and the gulf coast seem to be having a small boom and may want to look for interior designers who can offer new homeowners a discounted rate from the established designers. Your income will be based on how many people are buying homes in Florida. I would recommend looking through want ads and see if there are any salary postings for interior designers so you could get an idea on markets around Florida. Personally, I would not want to look for a job in South Florida (Miami, Ft.Lauderdale) since those can pay top dollar for it probably have made connections with those snobby eurotrash designers who think they know it all.
