What does an average Interior Designer in Florida make starting out for the first year?

I am interested in the Interior Design field as a career, What does my first year financial plan look like ?

It all really depends on your clients, and at the moment you may have some difficulties in making more than $40,000 a year. It also depends where in Florida you plan on starting. South Florida currently has a lot of homes up for foreclosure, so the demand for interior design might begin to decline.
Central Florida and the gulf coast seem to be having a small boom and may want to look for interior designers who can offer new homeowners a discounted rate from the established designers.
Your income will be based on how many people are buying homes in Florida. I would recommend looking through want ads and see if there are any salary postings for interior designers so you could get an idea on markets around Florida.
Personally, I would not want to look for a job in South Florida (Miami, Ft.Lauderdale) since those can pay top dollar for it probably have made connections with those snobby eurotrash designers who think they know it all. Good luck.
