I am thinking of becoming a maid/ housekeeper. How much should I ask for per day or hour?
Asked by siamesedream86
How much do ppl' pay for night maids also? I do not want to work for a service. I should have added that I live in Illinois. I am going to advertise in places like Hinsdale and Naperville...Does that help at all?

I live in the Dallas area. We have a maid that comes by every 2 weeks and cleans up. She charges $85 for about 3-4 hours of work. In charging, I would take into consideration the size of the home, the tasks required for the job, and the going rate in your local area.

Depends on the part of town you're cleaning in. For an idea try calling MerryMaids or whatever local cleaning services you have in your town and ask for a quote. I suspect you won't be making as much as you're hoping though.

Depends on how much you do. Our maids charge $80.00 for cleaning (vaccuuming, sweeping, mopping, general tidying up) the kitchen, two bathrooms, entryway, and hallways. If you wanted to get into doing bedrooms or laundry, I'd shoot for the $130.00 range. There are also a few maids that come at a time...
