What is involved in a Account Manager or Sales manager in a hotel?

One of the things they do is work with convention and conference groups. They set up what meeting rooms will be needed, a special conference rate for the hotel rooms, the kind of set up for chairs and tables, the menu for lunches and breaks, etc. They may also set up special rates with a local business that may bring in vendors or their own people and want a special hotel rate.
