Is evening work shift the same as night shift?

My contract is evening shift, but I work through the night.... Should my contract be night shift or is that the same as evening?

Whatever the company decides usually swing starts after day shift then graveyard starts at about midnight.

A:
Every company has different terms. Evening shift usually is the same as night shift, and can start from 10-12pm and end from 8-10am. Some call it third shift. Second shift, or late afternoon shift is usually 2-5pm to 10-2am.
