Let me share with you what my daughters did and good luck to you sweetie, you can do it, just work hard and hang in there okay?
If you are going to babysit and want a good rep and regular, repeat customers, you have to portray yourself as a young but serious business woman.
You have to be reliable, responsible and show up no matter what. Make sure your parents always know where you are going and you can give them the number and names of the folks you are sitting for. Hopefully you have a love of children and if you do, you can go very far in building up a little nest egg for high school or college.
1. Call your local Red Cross or Girl Scout Council and find out whether or not they have babysitting classes available, also you will need Infant CPR and basic first aid. You can baby sit without it but if you have the skills, you can ask for more money and be taken much more seriously.
2. Create a portfolio of the certificates you will earn and letter of recomendation from the families you will baby sit for.
3. Create some professional looking flyers with your first name only, cell phone number and or email and hand them out at church or children stores (like Toy's R Us or Babies R Us) to women with small or school aged children.
4. Look the part. Wear your hair pulled back, clean clothes and look like you are proud to own your own business.
5. Everyone I know at some time or another needs a good babysitter but not everyone is a good babysitter, does that make sense? If you are serious about what you are doing, you can totally succeed. By the time you are in high school you could have a nice little business going...

Hi there. For babysitting, your church or local community center are good places to start. I don't know what kind of experience you have watching children, but you're very young to be a sitter and it will be difficult to gain a strange person's trust. It might be easier for you to get a job working with animals. Start by getting the phone book and looking up vet offices in your town. Give them a call, explain that you would like to help out with taking care of the animals. A lot of vet offices offer kenneling services which means they'll have dogs and cats living at the office while their owners are on vacation. Which also means, they need people to come in and feed the animals, give them excersize and (yuck) clean their cages.
Just be sure to let your folks know what you're up to and to take them with you when you go to a new job for the first time. It's not only a safe idea, but your prospective employer will see that as a sign that you have a good relationship with your folks and that you must be a good kid.
