Sally L.
How much should I charge as a personal home cook?
Asked by Sally L.
I just took up a job cooking for two people. I make them dinner meals for every night of the week. I have never had a job like this and I just want to know what you would charge for 4 + hours of cooking time. Or tell me how much you paid a personal cook?

I'm surprised you have already taken the job without any discussion of fees. You can negotiate with whatever you feel you are worth and the family can afford, but If you want to charge the standard fee for a personal chef, contact the Personal Chef Association (US and Canada websites below). Good luck

Not sure, but if you know a good lot of recipes and you keep the kitchen clean, that's worth a pretty pennie right there.
