Asked by liz
i've worked home health care for 2 years as a CNA and i'm in nursing school right now for my LPN and am continuing for my RN after i graduate. i need a job that is flexible and i could work around my hectic school schedule. would home health care be a good choice and does anyone know approximately how much they get paid?

u could work nights as a home health care nurse & get paid good money for those hours & still continue you schooling for your LPN & RN & home health care pay is good & i think that u could name the hourly rate once u have finished school cuz u would have your license & that will come in handy as far as working night hours go & also for work in a hospital also so good luck! i think that the pay for a license nurse could go as high as $35 to $45 an hour once u r licsensed & depending on the hours u work at a hospital. i have a friend who's a licensed nurse & she started at $15 an hour & the last i heard she was making $35 an hour in a hospital working the 2nd shift 3:pm to 11:pm & that was several years ago

Most home health care agency's pay minimum wage, but at least you'll have down time so you can study. Or you can try working Per Diem at a nursing home.

Another idea would be working for a Hospice in you area. Also, if you work at a hospital as a LPN, they may have a tuition reimbursement benefit to continue studying to be a RN. It is extremely difficult to work and go to school at the same time; but the rewards are certainly worth it! Good luck to you!!!
