What is a good job for a LONG TIME retail manager who doesn't want to be in retail anymore?
Asked by Kevin E
I am in sort of a "catch-22". I am getting older, I am recently married, looking to start a family, and I am looking for a more stable pay structure and hours. I am MORE THAN QUALIFIED for just about any retail job out there, but I'd really like to move onward and upward. Any suggestions for going in a new direction?

Best Answer:
financial sales by now, you should understand consumers and why they buy. that's perfect background for financial sales. look for a major firm that recruits new people into the business and apply. GL

Just one suggestion....Have you thought of working from home and starting your own business. It's a big leap, not having a boss to answer to, setting your own schedule and making what you want!! With the right company and support tools anything can happen. Work from home united will work with you to reach any goals that you set. The best part is there is no stopping point. You can make as little or as much as you want. I love it and have never been happier!! http://workathomeunited.com/frost

I left over 15 years of retail/wholesale sales behind and got into computer operations. No more waiting on John Q. Public - little phone ringing - unless something goes down - the public has no access to my work area - it's nice. Downside is, computer operations run 24/7/365 - someone will be there every day and night - until you build some seniority, it'll probably be you. Holidays aren't bad to work usually as everyone is gone and you're babysitting equipment that seldoms fails - so it's easy time and higher pay for it since it is a holiday.
