DeathDeathREVOLUTION!
What kind of work is warehouse help?
Asked by DeathDeathREVOLUTION!
I'm interested in applying at a furniture warehouse for a part time job. What kind of things do you think they would ask of me? I don't have that much customer service experience, so I'm a bit worried if I have to deal with people who want advice on furniture.

Warehouse help won't interact with customers, except to load the sofa on the customer's pickup. Unless it's a "warehouse" type store - a retail outlet with a cement floor and unfinished ceiling masking itself as a wholesaler. Then you might be applying as a salesperson. Before 'warehouse stores' became popular, there were only warehouses - where goods are stored before being moved to a store or a sales floor. Somebody's got to get all that heavy stuff out to where the customer can buy it (or get it from the sales floor to the customer's vehicle or house.) "Furniture warehouse" could be either. It can be hard and heavy work, but you won't have to wear a shirt and tie! ;) Good hand-eye coordination helps, also, as for some reason the superiors take a dim view of denting the legs or ripping the upholstery of their stock. :D Good luck to you! Hope it's what you're expecting!

Its hard, heavy, and dangerous.
