What are the pros and cons of being an Account Manager in an advertising agency?
Asked by SmileyGirl
I'm interested in becoming an Account Manager in advertising. I work in marketing communications, but on the client-side, so it would be a big change to go to the vendor-side. What's involved? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Possible pros. would be; more money, more experience, look good on your resume. Cons.; being hounded for bills to be paid and not having enough money to meet all your payments on time (having to make excuses why accounts are not paid) and not having any authority over this, having a boring job, stuck in an office all the time, not much chance of advancement, being a negitive person to deal with. I would . stick to marketing but take it a step further. Do a course or step up in jobs. S.T. QLD Aust.

its a tough industry to crack. good luck
