Would housekeeping/custodial or warehouse labor be a good entry-level and first! job for a college grad?

I'll have to start somewhere, and since I like plenty of practice to build skills, I'll start from the ground up. I was curious--if anyone knows from experience--if housekeeping/custodial and general labor would be a solid way to start since I'm graduating very soon (BA English) and have never even had a job before but one now so desperately that I'd work for free (for a while, ahem) just to get a work history and experience. Also, if interviewing for these jobs, should I keep my BA degree to myself so I won't be called overqualified? Thanks

No.....you would be waisting your time....try to get an entry level job in you career field........may have to find one first......never lie on a application.......always be honest......

even if you are starting from the bottom, make sure that whatever experience you gain is related to your long term career plans or in a company that you would eventually like to work for in future.

I have never met a housekeeper with a BA who chose being a housekeeper as her first job.However, You could create your own Custodial Cleaning, which included organizational services, and hire employees as you need them. It is very importand that you are bonded,, have good insurance, and drug test your employees. A simple saliva test will tell the whole story.So tag, go for it.
