How should I dress for an office manager interview?
Asked by Ladyluck
Also, what questions should I ask, I know not to ask about salary, vacation, etc. because I already know the answers from a person who works there. Please help! I don't want to over dress, but definitely don't want to flop w/ an inappropriate outfit. The office has approximately 20 workers.

Dress as well as the person interviewing you. People hire people like themselves, people hire who they like, pending some qualifications - period. Would you like a coffee(hand them coffee you brought) What created the opening? Why do you work here? How did the previous manager relate to the staff? Tell me about the competition? What is value prop of company? What are some of the challenges of the company? What challenges has the company faced? What are your expectations of me? Tell me about the training. Walk me through the day. Tell me about the team. Do you have any additional questions? When can I start? Can I have your card.....

Always dress for the job you want ... not the job you have It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Full business dress. Nothing flamboyant - including makeup & jewelry. Do not deviate from this - not even a little. Once you get the job, there is always the chance to dress down, especially if others do so. Dressing well reinforces the impression you want to present - professional, polished, and managerial!

no such thing as overdressing. Always better to err on the side of being more formal.
