Good Jobs With No College Degree(s)?
Asked by crawl_reptile
I know a ton of people asked. College I don't think will be me. I will give community a try but overall the work etc etc sucks as it is in highschool. I am a decent very "hawt" kinda guy (18yrsold) and was thinking about perhaps modelling but can't find anywhere really. I just want to be able to live life happily with a well-paying job good enough for an apartment at least. Other than that, A model would be neat. I can perhaps also act or be a Jackass crew star person alongside Johnny Knoxville. Idears anybody?

Try sales.
If you are confident and good with people, you can do well in this field. You can start with mall kiosks or used cars. Just about anything really. If you can convince other people to buy things, people will want to hire you. They usually pay on commission so their risk is low if you don't sell. On the other hand, if you do you can make a lot.

Contractor work, like repairing air conditioners, carpentry, plumbing, etc is supposed to be the next big job demand. Not as glamourous as modeling, but the paycheck is infinitely more reliable.

Learn a trade. Construction, technical, and support are all looking for motivated people. Hell, join the Army, that's what I did (after college).

You could always go to a trade school and they for many things and it doesn't take long at all. After that you'd easily be able to get a decent job. As for modeling your best bet would be to look into getting an agent and from there they can teach what people are looking, help you put a portfolio together and they already have contacts of modeling companies in need of models.

dude grow up.
that being said you can be very successful without a degree. most likely in business. You will have to work just as hard either way probably less if you go to college so dont fool yourself. you dont want to be someone who wears a jumpsuit to work at age 30. i dont know maybe im more ambitious than you, i want to win a noble prize in biology and im not stopping until i achieve that. so whatever you do i urge you not to be comfortable with a comfortable life and an apartment. you only get onle life so try and max out your potential

It sounds like you want something glamorous, don't we all? I've found tho that w/o training it's almost impossible to make lots of money. One really good job that is often overlooked is caring for clients with MR/DD. That basically means that they have mental retardation. It pays good, and best of all you get paid to play. Your job is about 20% personal care and 80% helping them to live normal lives. So you get paid to shop, to watch tv, go to movies, plan trips, go to parks, etc and you also are helping them out a lot. I get paid $11 an hour and am expecting a raise soon. Best of all, you don't need schooling. Whatever you decide to do, you should really consider schooling because your looks are not always gunna be there, you know?

Your outlook on life is childish to say the least but if you really want a job where you don't need to go on to school I would suggest being a bartender. Its fun, you meet interesting people, and if you have a personality the money can be really good.

If you don't want to get an education, but would still like a great paying job, go down to the waterfront and get in as a longshoreman. States such as Seattle, California, Hawaii, etc. Just go to the Union hall to try and get in. You can make anywhere from $100,000-$200,000 depending on the job they give you. No education required and you can even be skummy looking all tatted up and missing teeth. I am completely serious!
