How do you apply to a grocery or shoppers drug mart? Should you go in and ask cashier for manager?
Asked by John D
I heard giving your resume to manager is best, as the other employee may not want you there and will discard your resume, whats the best way to get it to the manager, just ask the cashier if theres a manager? or like, just walk around looking for a person in that manager coat?

today, a lot of big businesses or chains want you to fill an application electronically. The old method of walking in and talking to the manager is still around and sometimes encouraged but usually, they'll take the paperwork and tell you to fill out the application electronically. This is either done in the store itself or online. A lot of companies now have personality tests to take at the same time as the application. You can go and talk to the manager, it will show you are truly interested but he will probably tell you to go fill the rest of the paperwork electronically.

Definately, ask any available employee if the manager is available to speak with you for a few moments regarding a position in the store. If they are not, fill out the application, drop of your resume (where directed by the staff) and ask for the manager's name and when a good time to follow up would be. Finally follow up.
