Interviewing next week for my maternity cover in Admin job, what should I ask?
Asked by Anne K T
No real experience of interviewing but need to see 5 people next wednesday who want to do my job for 10 months while I am on maternity leave. My job is Admin/Finance/Office management. Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds terrible but get the slackest nastiest person to do it so when you wanna come back then they are glad to see you!

1. How do you handle multiple priorities?
2. Describe a time you had to deal with a difficult situation? What did you learn from that experience?
3. How would you describe your learning style?
4. What are the three things that you look for in potential employer?
5. Why should we hire you?

This question was asked to me in a recent interview, and it was the toughest I have ever had.
It is 5pm and you are the only one left in the office. The CFO comes up to you and says that they are working on a major project and needs something done now. This thing they want done takes bending the company rules and also may involve bending some copyright laws. What do you do?
I answered that I would look at all aspects of the situation and see if some other way could be found that would not break rules or laws. I also said that if I could not find a way, I would say no, even if it cost me my job.
I got hired from that interview so I guess I didn't do to bad.
You can change the question up for your needs.

a variation of the strengths and weaknesses question would be to ask the candidate to give you an example of good practice that they have used in the past. Then turn it around and ask for an example of bad practice that they have observed and how they handled it or what they learned from the experience.
