Should I quit my job because its preventing me from going to school fulltime?
Asked by Rachael R
I love my job and my company but I have been going to school nights fulltime and pretty soon I wont be able to because all the classes I need at night are on the same days at the same time. If I could go durring the day I could go full-time, but I just got promoted at my job and I have worked hard their also.

You could take a leave of absence. Some people do this to see if they'd prefer a different job. Inform the company you work for that you love you job and love working there but you need time to finish school. Ask them if they accept requests for leaves. If they do, you will have to put your request in writing and they have to approve it. As long as you could do without the income you should be ok. Or take a leave of absence and find another job with less hours so you'll still have some money coming in. Then when you're all done, return to where your working now. :)

You've just got promoted means your performance is to your employer's satisfaction. They like you and they want to keep you within the company. Discuss your situation with the company openly, tell them your further education achievement would help the company. I am very sure they would accomodate your schedule and make other arrangements. I don't need to say GOOG LUCK, because I am sure.

Is your job in the field you are training for? If not, and if you can support yourself then go ahead and quit. But if you are already working in your chosen field, it would be foolish to quit. Are you wanting to quite for a particular reason? Obviously you are excelling at your job. Talk to your supervisor, maybe they can accomodate you.
