Is there any future in security officer work?
Asked by robert f
I work as a security officer. It's a gutter job, but I get a $790.00 biweekly paycheck off of 96hours of work. I could become the supervisor or site supervisor. Those positions are virtually the same as my present position. Other than that, is there room for advancement?

I am a part time security guard. It all depends on where you're located and what company you work for. I have a friend who works for a mom and pop security comapny and he makes about $8.00 an hour. I work for Allied Barton. They have 30,000 employees and there is always higher opportunities on the company website job board. I make $10.50. Shift supervisors don't make any more but our second in command does as does the site supervisor. AB will also offer positions in support and management. Go to http://alliedbarton.com and search their opportunities in your area. Good Luck. I hope you do better.
