If you want a job as a waitress but have no experience do they make you start off as a hostess?
Asked by April R
What are the chances that you'll get hired as a waitress? Are restaurants willing to train because if everyone prefers experience then how does anyone get a job in the first place?

It depends on the restaurant. At the restaurant that I work at you can only start as a host and work up, but its a Fine Dinning restaurant so it all depends...if you are applying at a place like Denny's I doubt it matters.

Start at a casual dining restaurant like Olive Garden, TGIF, Zio's, etc. They will train you. You may move to a more upscale restaurant once you get some experience.

Those are good answers, but I've worked in fine dining forever, we love newbies. You dont bring bad habits from your old job & we can train you OUR way
