If you plan to seek a job that needs accounting skills then it will look good. But it won't really matter for a job that doesn't need accounting skills.
As a business manager, I will say that understanding accounting concepts can be helpful in virtually anything business related.

Bookkeeping/Quicken is good to know, but it depends on the profession. In my profession no one would care about it.
Good to have/know though. Makes you look responsible.

Depends on the field you ultimately want to get into. I am a CPA and I would hire someone with ANY accounting experience over someone with nothing. Accounting experience is something that will NEVER hurt you, but may not always help you....depending on the job you ultimately want.

Well if number crunching and pen-pushing is your thing then Accounts is for you. I used to do "B-Keeping" back in highschool and I found it really mundane and boring. A couple of my class mates liked the class a lot . So i guess its somethng your born for and not really somethng you learn.
My advice is to take the course only if you like doing accounts otherwise dont bother unless your prepared for long mundane classes and homework assignments. If your good in math then i guess you could take it but id still advise against it. Many companies are looking for accountants but its a very competitive market,,,,,you have to be really good to even be considered for the job.
