How many years of professional experience does it take to equal a bachelors degree?
Asked by Zrose25
What is the standard for businesses when hiring new employees? Does 5+ years of experience equal a bachelors degree when trying to qualify for a job that is asking for a batchelors degree (or equivalant in professional experience).
Links to sourses with this information would be greatly appreciated.

Hate to break it to you, but unless they specify 'or x# years experience' in the job ad, they require a bachelor's degree. There is no standard. You probably won't make it past the HR screener without one, but it never hurts to try.
In my opinion 5+ years of related job experience is worth far more than a bachelor's degree. Schools vary and provide no guarantee of individual success. On the job is where you really learn, but I'm not in HR :)

It will take from 3-5 years as a full time student to get a bachelors degree..
You need to complete all the requirement of a business degree.

It depends on the job. Some jobs like mine, I am a CPA, there is NO substitution of experience for a bachelors degree. If there is an equilivance, it is usually in the requirement section of the job posting.

It depends on the job, but it is typically 2 years for every year of college. so for a 4 year degree 8 years direct and related expierence
