It's dangerous work and requires a lot of athleticism. Just go to the drilling site or contact the oil drillers himself. If you see any of their trucks in town, write down the name and call them, stop them at the Dairy Queen and ask, whatever. They will look him over and ask him to fill out some forms. He may have to go offshore. Once he learns a skill, he will get paid about $80,000/yr. @2weeks on /2 weeks off. If you need to, go to the internet and find the names of the companies. Many companies only hire through temporary agencies. That is true of the processing plants in Pasadena and the Ship Channel. They were getting sued by ethnic groups for profiling, when the guys just weren't safe to work around, so the oil companies decided to hire only through the temp agencies. That way they can see how well the guys follow instructions, work with others, pay attention to the safety issues, work habits, etc. If they like him, they will offer him full time after about 18 months. so check with the temp agencies. Never let a lack of contact info. get in the way of getting a job. All information is out there. Learn how to mine it!

Then he should try,
Texas Pipe, main number.. 1-713-799-9235
Ask Toya The main person who answers the phones to get him to personal.
They might need people like him right now, I am not sure!!
I would also goggle it, to see, there are several companies looking for oil feild workers right now, there are buildboards in south texas up and provied phone numbers!!
Good Luck!! If he is a safety Enginer, degree.. He can get a great job at $80k working at the plants in pasadena, and some send people out to get and give inspections to other plants!!
