Does anyone work at the Sequoyah or Watts bar nuclear power plants in Tn? Do you enjoy it?
Asked by Kendra
How do you like living in Tennessee and what's the cost of living like? And what's the pay like? My husband and I are looking at possibly moving there in a year. He's a nuke electrician in the navy who will have 13 yrs experience when he gets out. I just work customer service so I can get a job anywhere (not that that pays good but hey)

Tennessee is great cost of living is less then many places no income tax but high sales tax property taxes are relatively low depending on location TVA has applied for and been granted permits to begin the start-up at the number 2 reactor at Watts Bar. they are in the process to do the same with Muscle Shoals. Watts Bar is in a very small town (Spring City) but close to Knoxville and Chattanooga. Sequoya is in Soddy Daisy(suburb of Chattanooga). being a vet does help your husbands job prospects with TVA and there are numerous service sector jobs in the area. the unemployment rate for the state is below the national rate (usually about a half percent lower). good luck Go Vols!!
