Career Questions and Answers

Steve
Where do I start if I wanted to pursue a career as a pharmacist?
Asked by Steve
I am looking at becoming a pharmacist and am concerned about where to begin. I have yet to find any direct information reguarding specific institutions where I might be able to study. I would prefer an accredited online degree program if possible. Would it be benificial for me to study as a pharmacy technician and shadow a pharmacist? Anyone with any info or perhaps a website? Although I am sure I have seen them all.

If you're still in high school or college then see your guidance counselor; they will be able to steer you in the right direction. If you're out in the working world go and see a pharmacist and find out where they attended school.

There's no such thing as an online pharmacy/prepharmacy program. Lab courses are required which make online impossible. You can do your prepharmacy at any accredited physical institution.

Being a tech first would help, but is it worth the time to learn to be a tech if you aren't one already? I'd have to say no. There is no online program to be a pharmacist. Contact the nearest college pf Pharmacy. They can spell it out for you
