KATE L
How much should a junior graphic designer expect to earn?
Asked by KATE L
I am applying for my first graphic design jobs for when I leave uni and some companies are asking what my expected salary would be. As this is my first experience of this, any ideas on what sort of payment i should be asking for in a full time position? I have a degree but no previous work experience. Any advice would be appreciated.

In London £20K Outside London £17K I would always ask for more e.g. In London ask for £24 then be prepared to negotiate, but go no lower than £20k. It would be very tough to live in London on less. I lacked the confidence to do this with my first graphic design job but for the second job 18 months later I asked for another £6k and got £3k with a salary review at 3 months.
