How is the bartender certification process?
Asked by F.C.J.
I plan on getting an at home bartending course that will get me certified to actually work. Does anyone know how difficult it is? Or maybe how hard it will be to find work as a bartender?

Ok, I just want to start off by saying that I wouldn't go to bartending school a day in my life, just save your money and time...I've been a bartender for a couple of years and I honestly learned everything by doing it and it only takes a couple of weeks to learn the basics. The best way to get a job is to either start off as a server at a place and then have someone train you into bartending, or a lot of corporate places will be willing to hire you with no experience and train you for free...I have bartended in chicago in anywhere from sports bars to brewereys and it's really all about who you know, so go out and start having some fun, most of the places I got my jobs at I was a regular atendee of that bar...I hope I didn't overwhelm you! good luck!!
