I get some job descriptions from my friend, here you are: •Make sure new patients are scheduled properly. •Screen all incoming calls and be responsible for messages getting to the appropriate person. •Courteously answer phone inquiries from patients or clients. •Ensure that any emergency patient is offered immediate attention if at all possible. •Call all "no-shows" 10-15 minutes after the time they were to have arrived and get them rescheduled. •Keep and use a "short notice" list for use in covering canceled appointments. •Make sure the reception area is clean and orderly so it is a pleasant place for clients to wait. •Greet everyone coming into the office with a smile. Be friendly, warm and make everyone feel welcome. •Keep appointment book accurately filled in. Make sure appointments are entered with name, phone number and exact procedure •Be responsible for the flow of patients and clients. If it slows down or jams up, find out why and do what you can to expedite the flow. •Be responsible for directing clients to educational information that will be helpful to them. •Confirm appointments as necessary for the next day's schedule. •Make sure the correct data is entered on the mailing list when new clients/patients come into the practice. Usually a receptionists job is answering the phone, welcoming visitors to the Health centre and giving ut information. Having good communication skills and being helpful. Computer skills are usually required to call up patients details, printing off repeat prescriptions, sending off appointments to the local hospital, making appointments to see the doctor/s and nurse. Ordering in Injections. The list is endless, but it is a very rewarding job. You'll soon find out what is expected of you when you take up the offfer of this employment or you could just ask them. Hope this helps and have a good day Hun;-)

ive worked in a dr office. I made appts for patients, took notes to the nurse or doc, called insurance companies to verify coverage, took payments, and took patients back to their rooms, took patients med history, insurance ect. and updated records. I loved it. It was fast paced but the 4 docs i worked for in the clinic were awsome-
