How long does it take to train and become qualified as a painter and decorator?

I'm 21 years old soon and I'd like to train as a painter and decorator, what do I need to know about doing so? anything that you can share with me is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can get an apprenticeship with a tradesman/firm You can do a college course then work with a tradesman you can work with a tradesman and do day release at college. Apprenticeship is three years .

Ask for a list of courses from a College of Further education. They might have full and part time courses with a recognised qualification.
