You may get more money by working in a site as an Engineer but it is a tedious job. By the way what was your interest while doing your final year? I mean your Project and job interest?
As a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineer you should avoid desk work and similarly site work. You should be engaged in a Plant for production/design/research work. Try with L&T, Maruti, Bajaj, Reliance, Godrej etc. I am sure you not only enjoy or share your knowledge with others, you will learn a lot too - skill up gradation. Your future will be bright provided you don't scare of working hard.

If want to earn money, you can go these kind of jobs. You have to work hard in this job. But you cannot get the professional experience from the site works. Better, initially, you can go for an industrial job like production, CAD/CAM etc.
