Would experience as being a receptionist equal to customer service?
I am trying to find a job as a customer service rep and was wondering if being a receptionist counts as experience?

Yes, it can count towards customer service experience. Being a receptionist is the ultimate customer service job; they are the first person clients and customers into contact with and must always present themselves and the company in the most courteous manner.

no not really... receptionist you deal with handling the calls of the customers to the appropriate place or person... Customer service deals with the person either on the phone or in person... But how you handle the phone calls and depending on what you have to do while answering the phones or helping people on their way does help with experience....
