Journeyman Lineman- a rewarding career?
Asked by hotrodit
I'm looking at a career change, tired of being a mechanic with second rate management. There's an apprenticeship in Iowa to be a Journyman Lineman. I'm dissapointed to see that "tuition is waived if you work for a contributing contractor for 5 years/8000 hrs. I don't care who you are, that's a long committment. Is this the way (the best way) to gain employment with a utility company? Thanks for your insight.

I think its a good way to get paid to get an education, and from what I here there is big demand for lineman. I know the pay is pretty good too.
